# Welcome

**Welcome to the Own.fund Documents!**

This is an evolving document designed to convey the most up-to-date information regarding the **Own.fund**. Due to the nature of the **Own.fund** as a collectively-managed investment vehicle, however, it is possible that it may not always reflect the most recent developments or decisions that have occurred. For the latest updates and to participate in the conversation, please be sure to visit the fund's [Discord](https://discord.gg/4yZrJN6URC) server. With that disclaimer over, enjoy!

**What is the Own.fund?**

The **Own.fund** is a collective of builders that have come together to support and empower founders in building the future of the creator economy. We are a collaboratively-owned investment vehicle that funds community-led and Social Token projects, as well as the tools and infrastructure that support them. We see ourselves as community capitalists with the mission of empowering growth in the creator economy.

The **Own.fund** carries out [Snapshot](https://snapshot.org) voting using its [OWN](https://etherscan.io/token/0x3230eddcac29248ec4e0c37975937fe591532675) token so that our members are able to participate in investment and fund decisions. The OWN token possesses no intrinsic value and merely serves as a means of governance signaling. Funds are distributed using a multisig wallet, controlled by major, known participants in the cryptocurrency economy:
